Gaydon, Warwickshire, 11 September 2007 – A new body styling pack for Discovery 3 is to be unveiled today at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The new features on the pack will provide the highly successful and award winning Discovery 3 with an even more contemporary and distinctive exterior, complimenting its legendary off-road credentials.
‘The Discovery 3 has an enormous breadth of capability – excellent on-road, awesome off-road,’ says the managing director of Land Rover Phil Popham. ‘It’s a 4x4 that can also double as a seven-seater or as a prestigious executive car. When equipped with the exterior styling pack upgrade, this Discovery 3 is aimed at people who want a large spacious vehicle but with even more style that in no way compromises its fabulous go-anywhere potential.’
A host of styling upgrades distinguishes the new Discovery 3 when the styling pack is selected. These include body colouring for the wheel arches, tailgate lift handle, mirror caps and door handles in addition to a bold design deeper front bumper incorporating fog lamps and an alloy under tray.
Additional bright trim features, finished in handsome alloy, include lower door trim finishers, front grille centre vane, side fender vent featuring Land Rover branding, extended roof rails, exhaust tailpipes and tailgate trim finisher.
Together with the new unique LED tail-lamps, the introduction of an impressive rear tailgate spoiler, rear bumper tread plate and rear bumper under tray in distinctive tungsten finish, significantly enhance the rear styling of the vehicle.
All vehicles featuring the body styling pack will also have the benefit of front fog lamps, front parking aid and headlamp powerwash.
When combined with the new craftsmanship improvements recently introduced and shown at Geneva earlier this year, the body styling pack features present Discovery 3 with an exciting blend of exterior style and a luxurious and spacious seven-seat interior.
The boldly designed and highly versatile Land Rover Discovery 3 has won almost 100 international awards, including Car of the Year (What Car?, UK) and SUV of the Year (Motor Trend, USA). Awards in 2007 include Best Large 4x4 (What Car? UK) and Best 4x4 Off Roader (Auto Express, UK).
The new body styling enhancements will be available from Spring 2008.
