Discovery 4 Drivers side front wiper

Post by crh » Wed Jan 10, 2024 12:47 pm

Hi all, I have a Discovery 4 65 plate HSE, owned for the past 5 years and over this time have had nothing wrong with vehicle and its fully serviced by an independent Landrover service centre.
I have an issue with the front wipers (driver side) when it reaches the up position I hear a tap sound as if something is hitting the windscreen each time it swipes and the sound is not a metallic sound, to me it sounds like its tapping the window.
The wiper does not touch the window pillar.
So far the service centre has been unable to find out what is causing this - changed wiper blades, wiper arms checked for fitment etc.
My question is has anyone come across this as its very annoying on long trips when raining as you can imagine.
The only other idea I have is that when I purchased the car it had a new windscreen fitted and if it was not fitted correct (if thats possible) could that cause this issue.
Many thanks for letting me post here and for your time reading my question.
I look forward to any sensible answers or advice.
