Agree with alternator wire mine did this the same thing. I used pliers and tighten the connector a bit and never had another problem.

Definately the spade connector or a break in the wire.

Hi,
Check the spade connector on the back of the alternator. make sure its tight and clean.

Rev counter on my Discovery operates intermittently for a minute or two then shuts down. When not operating, battery light comes on, goes off again if rev counter kicks in. Any answers to this problem please.
